My Personal Statement: Throughout the last few years I have passionately followed photography as a hobby, however throughout this time I have experience fashion, events, and documentary photography at a professional level. From these experiences I know I am the right person to follow a professional photography pathway at your business, I am ready to learn new photography skills and expand the ones I already have I just need a place to do so.
My Employment History: As I am quite young my employment history is quite short at the moment but I have done a lot of voluntary work at RSPB Sandwell Valley Nature Reserve which I continue to do to this day. My voluntary work involves me working as part of a team to help nature and talk to visitors on a regular basis, it is all about being welcoming and ensure everyone has an enjoyable day at the reserve so it is something I enjoy immensely. I have been volunteering since I was 16 and continue to do so today and hope to for some time to come, as part of my voluntary work I regularly make use of social media to converse with reserve visitors and inform them on what is happening at the reserve so this has expanded my social media skills over time. I also use my voluntary work to become more at one with nature as it is a very outdoors role that I play within the team at RSPB Sandwell, this has allowed me to expand my interest in wildlife photography which eventually led to my further interest in pursuing photography as a career. My voluntary work at RSPB Sandwell Valley can be well applied to future endeavours, the skills gained from voluntary can be well applied to work within a photography studio, I have developed communication and team working skills from voluntary that can be applied to working in photography studios.
My Education History: My education history to date spans from GCSE to A Levels and BTEC qualifications below are the qualifications that I have built up through my education history all were achieved at Wednesfield High School/ Academy. Please refer to page two of my CV for my full education history so far. You can see all of my currently achieved qualifications above, the most relevant to the type of business you are would be my two media qualifications that achieved high grades, throughout these course I worked heavily with photography and achieved some of my highest grades in the photography modules. I am currently studying BA (Hons) Media and Communication Media Photography at Birmingham City University so hope to have a degree to add onto the list above. As part of this degree I want to gain as much practical experience as possible and want to get into photography employment. I need and want as much experience working in photography studios as I can get to ensure affective expansion of my skills, wanting to do something is one thing but actually doing it in my opinion is vitally important to one’s success.
